What makes your religion better than any other?

Every civilization has its own creation story and religious views and rituals. You might believe in Jesus, your neighbor could believe in Mohammad, someone across the country believes in the enlightenment of Buddha, while a tribe of people on the island of Tanna wait patiently for the year that the King of America, John Frum, will return (on a February 15th) bearing bountiful cargo. There are, of course, an uncountable number of differing beliefs and religions that people devote their lives to, and are willing to murder and die for. So, what makes any one person believe that HIS beliefs are the absolute, undeniable truth? In my experience, the majority of people stay within the religion that they were born/indoctrinated into. Why is it that people just don't bother to ever question religion, and live their lives based on something that they might not even believe, if they bothered to take a good look at exactly what it is that they believe?
