Americans hypocrites?

I have a question for American folks...If some foreign film industry was to produce a successful film which pokes fun at Americans and American culture, would you laugh? If the film pokes fun at teen pregnancy, school killings, obesity, divorce rates and reinforces the stereotype that all Americans are stupid, would you guys laugh at yourself or would you be upset/angry?American movies/ media tend to be extremely negative or stereotypical towards other cultures..I guess that is the American definition of entertainment.To look down at other cultures.The recent example is a movie called "The love guru" with Mike Myers. Few Hindus got angry and American folks say "Chill out it is just a comedy!!"...When other cultures do the same to America, would they laugh? I'm just curious to know how hypocritical Americans can be..By the way, not all of India is snake charmers and poverty.we have 420 middle cl and 350 English speakers.( you know.we are ONLY the second fastest growing country)
