Is anyone apart from me amazed at the amount of poor english skills on display on this site?

And not just here, but everywhere. The amount of basic spelling mistakes and grammatical errors are something I find quite incredible. Is it because people are just lazy, and probably know the correct spelling but don't worry about it? Is it because of a lowering of standards in schools, or is it just that a lot more people have access to computers now, not just those that are well educated?
