Whose viewpoint would you give more credibility to, in relation to the issue of gay marriage and civil unions?

I think it's important to listen to and consider the point of view of both parties. And part of having a proper understanding, is to also consider the biases that both parties can have. The insider's bias might be more obvious since they have something to gain from it. You have to dig a little deeper sometimes to uncover bias from an outsider. But, the bottom line is, the issue should be decided on it's own merits and not so much the biases of either party.
