Rescue types - (any trainer too) How do you handle unfamiliar dogs on adoption days?

I'll take the time to try and train some simple behaviors like sit, stay and come. I also try and do loose leash walking. I use a lot of food and bribery and very few corrections as the public can really become offended to such things. I do try and get as much exercise on the dog as I can which will really help tone down the behavior. Showing the public a manageable dog or that the dog can be trained will increase its adoptablity. However these events do take a tole on human and dog alike. Congratulations on your success.
